In Germany, they have a huge celebration in Feb called Carnival. Everyone dresses up like Halloween in the States. They have parades with floats, loud music, and entertainment. Our neighbors took us to the one in our little town of Ketsch.

For some reason, one group was carrying flags from TN and GA?

Even the adults dress up--it's crazy!

Dieter, our neighbor and retired teacher, said that these are the traditional masks from an area in Southern Germany from centuries ago.

December/January 2008-09

In the winter, we had a lot of snow...

Moved the boys to Germany...

Went to several Christmas markets...

and bought a car.

We moved a week after the wedding to Ketsch, Germany, which is between Heidelberg and Mannheim.

After procrastinating for quite some time now, our blog begins. We have a lot of catching up to do, so more is to come.

Our lives in a nutshell...
Andy and I got married on November 9, 2008, and moved to Ketsch, Germany the next week. Andy moved from Hawaii, and I moved from Tennessee, to a town in the south-west part of Germany, between Heidelberg and Mannheim. And we are loving every second!
